The Cross of Heroes is a powerful new memorial honoring fallen heroes and all those who continue to carry their cross for Ukraine’s future.

Inspired by the Cossack cross, a symbol of victory and protection, the installation uniquely integrates this emblem into its design, embedded in paving, inverted in space, and enclosed within a circle, inviting visitors to enter from any of the four cardinal directions.

This large-scale memorial uses mirrored metal surfaces and optical fiber lighting to create dynamic interactions with sunlight and surroundings throughout the year.

The lights symbolize the souls of the heroes and those who bring light amid darkness by fighting, persevering, and keeping faith.

Visitors immersed in the installation experience a profound emotional connection with the nation, surrounded by thousands of lights and an audio soundscape crafted from natural Ukrainian sounds, from forest whispers to Carpathian streams.

This innovative combination of architecture, light, and sound offers a sacred space for reflection, unity, and remembrance.
